Restaurants in Aspen

Aspen is the place for any palate. You can find nearly any restaurant in Aspen to fill your tank and please your taste buds. Below are just a few of the excellent Aspen restaurants you should try on your Aspen vacation.

Blue Maize
For some southwestern fare, try the Blue Maize. The Blue Maize has classic southwestern food but also offers some upscale choices like barbecued anchiote salmon, or chili-rubbed ribeye steak and sweet potato fries. Or appetizers like lamb empanadas, octopus salad and smoked tomato vinaigrette.

Cantina
The same person has owned this Mexican restaurant for more than 20 years. The food is mostly pretty standard, including mole chicken, burritos, enchiladas and tacos. Some of the menu items also include some Western flavors, such as the wild game fajitas. The margaritas are said to be some of the best in town.

Takah Sushi
Takah Sushi has been in Aspen for more than 20 years offering some of the finest Japanese food in the West. The sushi bar seats customers on a first-come first-served basis and reservations are recommended for the dining room.

Pinons
If you forget to reserve a seat, you won’t be able to eat here. The Western-themed Pinons is the hardest reservation to get in Aspen. It’s extensive wine list and imaginative menu, like the pheasant quesadilla with herbed goat cheese and the baked Prince Edward Island mussels in a pastry, keep food lovers coming back. Other entrees include elk tenderloin, Colorado striped bass, grilled rack of lamb, New York steak and pheasant breast.

The Steak Pit
The Steak Pit has been grilling steaks and slow cooking prime rib since 1960. The salad is also worth the trip to one of Aspen’s classic restaurants.
